The parents of Pomklementieff were a Korean woman, and a French/Russian father, who was the consul of the French in Quebec City. Eugene Klementieff is her grandfather. The family name they chose was "Pom" since it's identical in pronunciation to Korean word for "spring" as well as "tiger". She is a native of Canada and lived there for a full year. The family later travelled extensively, thanks to the work of her father. The family lived in Japan as well as the Ivory Coast, before settling in France.
